Here are a few tips for selecting the right bottles, removing the existing labels and applying your custom labels. It’s an easy process!
For a perfect look, the bottle selection is an important part. Choose bottles with smooth, not rough, textures. A bottle with a paper label is better than one with a painted label (if painted, please be sure that it can be covered by your new label). Bottles come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Refer to the details below to select the right bottle size and shape.
Our wine labels are perfect for regular or large wine bottles.
The wine labels are 3.75” wide and 4.75” tall. Select wine bottles with a straight region of at least 4.75” in height. A bottle with a body consistent in width from top to bottom is perfect as your new label will not crinkle.
These are perfect for a standard 750ml or larger champagne bottle.
Our champagne labels are 5” wide and 3” tall. Select bottles with a straight region of at least 3” in height to avoid the new label for crinkling.
Our mini champagne are perfect for your custom favors! Use 187ml mini champagne bottles.
The labels are 3.5” wide and 2” tall. Select bottles with a straight region of at least 2” in height to prevent your custom label from crinkling.
REMOVING EXISTING LABEL FROM YOUR BOTTLE
Fill a pot or bucket with room temperature or cool water--enough to submerge the label portion of the bottle. Add 1/4 cup of baking soda and stir to dissolve. Soak for thirty minutes. The label should fall off after about thirty minutes, sometimes longer (you can also try scraping the label off). Soaking for a longer period may be necessary.
When the label detaches, please remove any remaining sticky adhesive by scrubbing with a sponge and some dish soap. Rubbing alcohol, Oxy Clean, or even baby wipes work!
Dry the bottle. It’s now ready for your new label!
APPLYING YOUR NEW LABEL TO THE BOTTLE
Make sure your hands are thoroughly dry. Dry the bottle completely--any wetness will destroy the label adhesive.
Remove the label from its backing and position over the bottle. Press firmly at the center and gradually outward to prevent air bubbles from forming.
Our labels are also REMOVABLE - they can be re-positioned, should you need a second chance! The label will adhere strongly to the bottle after a few hours. Ideally, apply the labels at least a day in advance of your event.
