Label Tips
BOTTLE SELECTION
Choose bottles with smooth, not rough, textures. A bottle with a paper label is better than one with a painted label (if painted, please be sure that it can be covered by your new label). Bottles come in a variety of shapes and sizes. A bottle with a body consistent in width from top to bottom is perfect, as your new label will not crinkle. Wine bottles should have a region at least 5” in height; champagne bottles, 3”; mini champagne and mini wine bottles, 2.5”.
REMOVING EXISTING LABEL FROM YOUR BOTTLES
Fill a pot or bucket with room temperature or cool water--enough to submerge the label portion of the bottle. Add 1/4 cup of baking soda and stir to dissolve. Soak for thirty minutes. The label should fall off after about thirty minutes, sometimes longer (you can also try scraping the label off).
When the label detaches, please remove any remaining sticky adhesive by scrubbing with a sponge and some dish soap. Rubbing alcohol, Oxy Clean, or even baby wipes work!
Dry the bottle. It’s now ready for your new label!
APPLYING YOUR NEW LABEL TO THE BOTTLE
Make sure your hands are thoroughly dry. Dry the bottle completely. Remove the label from its backing and position over the bottle. Press firmly at the center and gradually outward to prevent air bubbles from forming. Our labels are also removable - they can be re-positioned, should you need a second chance! The label will adhere strongly to the bottle after a few hours. Ideally, apply the labels at least a day in advance of your event.
